AI search visibility · GEO and AEO

Your brand in ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity

More and more buyers ask an AI tool for recommendations before they open Google. These tools answer based on what they find about your category: your site, articles, reviews, directories and profiles. If your brand isn’t in those sources, it isn’t in the answer.

What I review

  1. What AI says today. I test the questions your customers ask and record which brands appear, with what information and which sources.
  2. The sources AI relies on. I identify the sites, articles and directories cited in answers about your category.
  3. Your site. How clear the information is, structured data, pages that answer specific questions, and authorship signals.
  4. Your presence beyond the site. Google Business Profile, LinkedIn, reviews, media mentions and industry directories.

What I do next

  • Rewrite or create pages with direct answers and verifiable data: figures, deadlines, definitions, comparisons. See content writing.
  • Organise structured data so your brand, services and people are clearly identified.
  • Map where your brand should be mentioned outside your site, and with what message.
  • Track the answers to your target questions every month to see what has changed.

What I’ve learned from clients

AI tools cite concrete data: fines, deadlines, the number of sectors covered, articles of law. Generic summaries rarely get cited. For a cybercompliance consultancy, the work started there: making each regulatory page more factual than its competitors’.

FAQ

Is this the same as GEO or AEO?

Yes. GEO (generative engine optimization) and AEO (answer engine optimization) are names for this work. I call it AI search visibility because it describes the goal.

Does it replace SEO?

No. AI tools often use search results as a source, so solid SEO is still the foundation. Most of my SaaS clients work on both.

Can you guarantee my brand will appear in ChatGPT?

No one can. What I can do is raise the odds by working on the sources these tools use, and measure progress.

How do you measure it?

With a fixed set of questions tested every month, traffic from AI tools in Analytics, and the AI features report in Search Console.

Can my team learn to do this?

Yes. I run training on AI search visibility for marketing and leadership teams.

Let’s talk?

The first call is free and there’s no commitment. Before it, I look at your site; on the call I show you the three priorities.
